What is CATS ... ?
- CATS "Card at Table Service" is an affordable technology for accepting credit card payment in the restaurant, nightclub, and bar environment. Designed so that customer's credit card never has to leave the table. CATS Enables their customers to swipe their credit card at the table eliminating the need for the wait staff to remotely swipe your card.

Why use CATS ... ?
- We've all heard, and perhaps even experienced, stories of missing credit cards, mixed-up cards, identity theft, and card skimming at restaurants and bars. Credit card theft continues to grow in some areas of the world such as Europe, regulations require that the credit card be swiped in full view of the customer. The industry trend is moving towards better stewardship of customer credit cards at dining establishments and bars.

How does it work ... ?
- When the customer is ready to pay the bill, the wait staff brings a bill folio with an integrated CATS Smart MSR to the table. Customers swipe their cards through the CATS reader where the information is encrypted and stored in the mobile device. A soft green luminescent light alerts the wait staff that the bill is ready for processing thus streamlining the payment process. With the credit card ready for processing the server simply takes the CATS reader to the POS Terminal where the folio is docked for authorization. Once the charge is authorized, the server returns the folio to the customer for the addition of gratuity before closing out the ticket at the POS Terminal

What is a Smart MSR ... ?
- A magnetic stripe card is a type of card capable of storing data by modifying the magnetism of tiny iron-based magnetic particles on a band of magnetic material on the card. The magnetic stripe, sometimes called swipe card or magstripe, is read by physical contact and swiping past a magnetic reading head. These units are called Magnetic Stripe Readers or MSRs.
- CATS has improved on the original design of the magstripe readers by immediately encrypting the information that is read from the card.
- Called a 'Smart' Magnetic Stripe Reader or Smart MSR the CATS readers represent the most advanced readers in use by Restaurants, Bars, and Nightclubs today.
- CATS Smart MSRs are different. They encrypt the information immediately when swiped and then they store the protected information until it is passed to the secure POS Terminal software for authorization. In addition they will identify to the server the type of credit card used, AMEX, VISA, and MasterCard etc.
- Immediate encryption, secure storage, and safe Infra Red light data transfer make CATS Smart MSRs the most advanced units available today.
